UTM Link Builder

Build trackable UTM links for your campaigns in seconds — no spreadsheet, no guesswork.

A UTM link builder lets you add tracking parameters to any URL so you know exactly which campaign, email, or social post actually drove a visit — instead of guessing from vague "referral" traffic in your reports. Just paste your destination link, fill in source, medium and campaign name, and get a ready-to-use tracked URL in seconds.

For a small business running Google or Meta Ads, or even just a handful of email newsletters and social posts, this is the difference between knowing what works and guessing. If you'd rather have someone set up full campaign tracking and reporting for you, get in touch for a free 48h check-up.

How to use it

  • Paste the destination URL — your homepage, a landing page, or any page you're promoting.
  • Fill in source, medium and campaign name (and optionally term/content), then click generate.
  • Copy the finished link and use it in your email, social post, or ad — your analytics will now show exactly where that traffic came from.

Frequently asked questions

What are UTM parameters used for?
UTM parameters are small tags added to the end of a URL that tell Google Analytics (or any analytics tool) where a visitor came from — which campaign, which channel, which specific ad or post. Without them, traffic from your newsletter, social posts, or paid ads often gets lumped together as generic "referral" or "direct" traffic, making it hard to know what actually worked.
Which UTM fields are actually required?
Source, medium, and campaign are the three that matter most and that most analytics platforms expect. Source is where the traffic comes from (e.g. newsletter, facebook), medium is the type of channel (e.g. email, cpc, social), and campaign is the name of the specific push (e.g. summer-sale). Term and content are optional and mainly useful for paid search or A/B testing individual ad variations.
Will adding UTM parameters change how my page looks or loads?
No. UTM parameters are just tracking tags appended to the URL query string — they do not affect your page content, design, or load time in any way. The only thing to keep in mind is to use them consistently, since inconsistent naming (like "Newsletter" vs "newsletter") can split your data into separate rows in your reports.
